Increasing Popularity

During the mid 1980's the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine (IABDM) was formed. In addition to supporting Wholistic Dentisty concepts, the IABDM further promoted certain biologic aspects of dental treatments that included ecological and environmentally safe aspects.

Bonding Chemistry: Leak Proof Bonding Agents and Techniques

Bonding failures are one of the most common factors that lead to leakage... for crowns and veneers. A bad or failed bond can potentially allow bacteria to seep through and cause new decay problems.

Reconstructive procedures require a perfect match between the physical characteristics of the bonding surface, the material being bonded (e.g., crown versus veneer), the location of the restoration (anterior versus posterior), moisture issues and the type of bonding agent.
