Care and Comfort for Dental AnxietyI am an educator in a local school district, and I lived in the West Chester area for 10 years during the 80s.
This is where I first met Dr. Ron, and I have been a patient of his (going on 25 years) and under his care ever since, even after moving to Downingtown. I think that it says a lot about the level of care and comfort that is provided at his practice as I am a bit of a dental phobic.
My wife often heard me talk about the dental care I received after my visits so she began getting checkups and going to him as well along with both of my children. I have been very pleased with the care I have received and find Ron to be very thorough, gentle, and knowledgeable on all current trends and procedures in dentistry.
He constantly checks on my condition during any procedure that I have to ensure that I remain comfortable, and I know that he has a sincere interest in each of his patients, always providing the best care with the least (often none) amount of discomfort.

A Friendly Family DentistI have had a lifetime of trouble with my teeth. By the time I was 25, I had had over 10 root canals and a variety of caps and large fillings. My brothers are the same way — thin enamel.
My husband and I have moved 5 times. I’ve been in many dental chairs and learned to tolerate poor chairside manner, painful procedures, offices that were less than clean, staff who were unfriendly, and waiting past my scheduled appointment time to start. I found this to be common among the practices I received care in, so I never knew it might be different.
When we moved to West Chester in 1998, I had established care with a local dentist. When this person confronted me with a “treatment plan” and subjected me to high-pressure sales techniques, I was offended. When this dentist saw my uncertain response they said “Remember last summer when I came in on my day off because you had a toothache?” I felt manipulated and guilty and irritated. I left and avoided going to the dentist for a year.
Fast forward to a Saturday evening when I had been out with my husband and a sore tooth flared up. I was familiar with the throbbing pain that I knew would result in the need for a root canal but was concerned about not having anyone to call. I called a neighbor who said that she had heard great things about Dr. Ron Briglia.
I phoned the office planning to leave a recorded message and try to hang on until Monday. My message explained that I wasn’t even a patient but that I had a sore tooth and wondered if there might be any way Dr. Briglia could see me over the next couple of weeks. I never mentioned that I was referred by my neighbor in my message.
Imagine my surprise when the phone rang within the hour! Dr. Ron himself was on the line and he had the most gentle, kind voice as he asked me about my tooth. He said he would see me first thing Monday and offered some great tips to reduce my discomfort in the meantime, and he insisted that I call him back if my pain grew any worse over the remaining weekend day. I was pleasantly surprised, but thought “I’ll see what the rest of the experience as a patient in his practice is like.”
What I discovered when I checked in on Monday morning was a calm and friendly office staff. Despite squeezing me into a full schedule, everyone took the time to ask about my family, my interests, my comfort. I felt welcomed, not checked in. Dr. Ron was caring and friendly and clearly a man who valued my time and my opinion about how I was treated. I thought “Everyone here is great, but I’ll see what his work is like.”
Dr. Ron’s work is impeccable – his crowns are perfectly matched in color, shape and size, fillings fit wonderfully;, they feel like the teeth you grew yourself and you forget that you have them at all. He fusses over each step of the process until it is perfectly done.
I’ve had my crowns and veneers for over 10 years now and they fit and look perfect. He is considerate about your comfort, always taking the extra time so that injections are painless. Appointments seem to pass quickly and I am never sore when I get home because he makes sure I have a Tylenol or Advil before I leave. He is always aware of the latest developments in the field and offers advanced technology and equipment to patients. He knows my entire family, hugs them hello and inquires about their grades, jobs, and college plans.
My family will never have another dentist as long as Dr. Ron is booking appointments. We are thrilled at the care we receive from Dr. Ron Briglia and his staff.

Local West Chester Dentist Goes Above and Beyond For PatientsThis is one example of how Dr. Briglia cares. My father had valve repair surgery, and the hospital where had the surgery lost his dentures. He was sent without teeth to a long-term, acute-care facility near Dr. Briglia’s office for the first part of his recovery.
I called Dr. Briglia right away to help get my dad a new set of teeth. He immediately came to my dad’s rescue. He went above and beyond what was required, actually treating my father at the rehab facility after his regular hours. As a result, my father is eating again and making progress every day.
If it weren’t for Dr. Briglia and his dedication and kindness, my father’s recovery would be much slower. I want to recommend Dr. Briglia as a wonderful family dentist. He is not only talented and gentle, but also compassionate.

Finding a New Family DentistMy family and I moved to West Chester, PA in 1991 having been transferred from Albuquerque, NM by my husband’s employer. We took a chance and made appointments for teeth cleanings for the whole family.
